FOR CYCLING IN VAL BELLUNA

The Province of Belluno

The province of Belluno, totally mountainous, is located in the northern part of the Regione Veneto. Most of the province is occupied by the Dolomiti Unesco National Heritage. Val Belluna is located in the southern part of the province and is surrounded, in the south , by the mountain chain of the Prealpi Bellunesi with Col Visentin, Monte Cesen and Monte Grappa. In  the north Val Belluna is dominated by the Schiara Group, Monte Pizzocco, Monti del Sole and Vette Feltrine. The latter group belong to the National Park of the Dolomiti Bellunesi, established in 1990.

Belluno, with its 35000 inhabitants, is the principal town of the province while Feltre, with its 20000 inhabitants, is the second most important town. Both are towns rich in art and history.

ARRIVING BY CAR

Where to park
The most convenient car parks for the Val Belluna Ring are the free car parks at the Palasport and Via Prade and the non free car parks Metropolis (covered) near the railway station and the two floor car park Ex-Moi in via Feltre or the extensive non free car park at Lambioi, at the foot of the town center.  There is also an area reserved for campers

At Feltre there are also two extensive free car parks, one near the railway station and the other in Prà del Moro.

ARRIVING BY TRAIN

Belluno is reachable by train from Venezia taking the line Venezia – Mestre – Treviso – Conegliano – Vittorio Veneto – Ponte nelle Alpi – Belluno.

Feltre is reachable by train from Padova taking the line Padova – Camposanpiero – Castelfranco – Montebelluna – Feltre.

The Val Belluna Ring is served by five local railway stations.

ARRIVING BY PLANE

The nearest airports to Val Belluna are the airport Antonio Canova in Treviso and the airport Marco Polo in Venezia.
