ROUTE AND TRACK

THE VAL BELLUNA RING

THE SURPRISE OF DISCOVERY

This cycling tourist tour is included in the “Quality Cycleways” on the “Bicitalia” website and links the art cities of Belluno and Feltre along the banks of the Piave river. It unfolds along cycle paths and country roads with low traffic, in the undulating country landscape of the Piave valley, at the foot of the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park.

The bridges of San Felice, between Bribano and Trichiana, and Busche, equipped with a cycle lane, allow to shorten and adapt the route to every need. The railway line, with the five stations of Belluno, Bribano, Santa Giustina, Busche and Feltre, facilitate the train + bicycle intermodality.

Starting from the Ring, you can explore the Val Belluna far and wide. The map presents five detours of particular interest, anyway the dense network of low-traffic secondary roads lends itself to countless bicycle routes, both on the right and on the left of the Piave banks.

The Ring of the Val Belluna allows you to discover a corner of Veneto not yet touched by mass tourism, characterized by a great variety of agricultural landscapes, and rich in art, history and nature, with the art cities of Belluno, Feltre and Mel, sites of ethnographic and naturalistic interest, Venetian villas, castles, archaeological sites, ravines, lakes and waterfalls. The Ring of Val Belluna is ideal for spending a weekend, at any time of the year, dedicated to unhurried cycling tourism.

It is advisable to travel along the Val Belluna Ring counterclockwise.

FEATURES OF THE VAL BELLUNA RING ROUTES AND SAFETY ADVICE

The Val Belluna Ring and the routes of the “Oltre l’Anello” section are suitable for any type of bicycle, but some dirt roads do not recommend the use of a racing bicycle, therefore we recommend checking the characteristics of each individual variant. The complete loop is 78 kilometers long and is characterized by sections of cycle-pedestrian path, sections of cycle path on dirt roads and sections on secondary roads open to cars, therefore it is mandatory to exercise caution and comply with the rules of the Highway Code. Particular attention is required in summer, especially on weekends, when the traffic increases.

Before any bike ride, we recommend checking that the bicycle is in perfect working order. Along the route, care should be taken, especially downhill, and, on cycle-pedestrian paths, priority must always be given to pedestrians.

We recommend using a helmet and appropriate clothing according to the season. Please, respect the environment and do not let any rubbish behind you!

We recommend doing the Val Belluna Ring counterclockwise, that is from Belluno to Feltre on the right bank of the Piave river and from Feltre to Belluno on the left bank.

FIAB Belluno APS assumes no legal responsibility for any damage or accidents to people or things that may occur along the itineraries proposed on this website.
