Cycle between sky and water: aA perfect detour for cyclists on the Val Belluna Ring.
A not-to-be-missed opportunity for those biking along the Belluna Valley Ring and looking for a detour that gives unique thrills and views is the Kite Festival, which will be held at Santa Croce Lake – Farra d’Alpago beach – the weekend of August 2 and 3.
The stars of the show will be static kites, huge inflatable kites and acrobatic kite displays. Children will also have the opportunity to take part in free creative workshops to build their own kites using recycled materials, an educational and fun activity that also teaches respect for the environment. Another highlight of the event will be the return of the fantastic life-size inflatable dinosaurs, unique in Europe.
San Croce Lake can be reached by taking a detour from the Val Belluna Ring – https://www.anellodellavalbelluna.it/sinistra-piave/ – cycling along the picturesque Soverzene cycle path, overlooking the Piave river, and along the cycle path that crosses the natural oasis of Santa Croce Lake, a wetland that is very interesting from a wildlife point of view. The itinerary is also suitable for families with children.
