he San Croce Lake Nature Reserve, crossed by the cycle path that leads from the Val Belluna Ring to Santa Croce Lake, has been enriched with a new work of Land Art created by the Gruppo Operativo Giovani Alpago under the guidance of artist Giorgio Vazza.
Lake, water: these are the elements that generate the work “Barca – il valore dell’invisibile” (Boat – the value of the invisible). Artist Giorgio Vazza explains the meaning of the work as follows: “In nautical language, a boat has a waterline that divides the upper part, known as the ‘deadwork”, from the lower part, known as the “livework”. It is precisely this submerged and hidden dimension that sees the seabed, becoming an invitation to go beyond the surface and have the courage to approach the invisible in order to grasp the true and profound meaning of life.”
The large, evocative works of Land Art, made with hazel branches, are an attraction for adults and children alike, who will discover the Horse, the Bird, the Robe and the Eye. Adding to the excitement is the fun of cycling along the cycle path that runs through the nature reserve to the grassy beach of San Croce Lake.
